Qara'a means to collect and gather, and gather qiraah means the letters and words with each other in a neat speech. Quran at first like qiraah, namely Masdar (infinitive) of said qara'a, qiraatan quranan. Allah says which means, "It is for We're collecting it (the chest), and (makes you smarter) to read. When we have finished to read it, so follow his reading it." (Al-Qiyaamah: 17 - 18).
Qur'anah words (reading) in the above verse means qiraatuhu (reading / how to read it). Thus, it is said Masdar according wazan (conjugation) with the vowel u fu'lan like ghufran and syukran. We can say qara'tuhu, quran, qiraatan wa quranan, meaning the same thing. Here maqru '(what is read) are named Quran (reading), the naming maf'ul with Masdar.
Quran dedicated as the name for the book revealed to Muhammad. so that the Quran be a unique name for the book, as the name itself. In combination, the word used to name the Koran as a whole, as well as for naming the verses. So, if we hear of people reading the Koran, we may say that he was reading the Koran. "And, when Qur'aan is recited, then listen and see ...." (Al-A'raaf: 204).
Some scholars say that the naming of this book by the name of the Koran among the books of God, because the book includes the core of the books of his, and even includes the essence of all science. This was hinted at in his word which means, "And We sent down to al-book (Quran) as an explanation for everything." (An-Nahl: 89).
"No we omitted nothing in al-book (Quran)." (Al-An'am: 38).
Some scholars argue that the Quran is the word at first as berhamzah not derivative. Perhaps because he was used as a name for kalam revealed to the Prophet. rather than derivative from qaraa or perhaps also because he comes from qarana ash-syai 'bi al-syai', which means unite with other things or is derived from qaraain (each pair), because the verses one with the others resemble each other. Thus far the letter was genuine. However, this opinion is still in doubt, the truth is the first opinion.

Quran is difficult given the limitations of logic definitions that classify all kinds, parts, and its provisions are specific: a genus, differentia, and propium, so that the definition of the Quran has many limitations that really concrete. Definition Qur'an menghadirkannya concrete is in the mind or in reality, for example, we refer to as the Koran is written in the Mushaf or read by the tongue. For that, we say, "the Koran is what is in between the two books," or we say, too, "the Koran is bismillaahir rahmaanir rahiim, Praise rabbil 'aalamiin ... minal jinnati wannaas."
The scholars say the Koran is close to the definition of its meaning by distinguishing from the others by stating that the Koran is the word of God theology or revealed to Muhammad. that reading is worship. In the definition of theology is the group that includes all types of kalam. And, by combining to God (the words of Allaah) means not including all human kalam, jinn, and angels.
And, with words derived, excluding the kalam of Allah who has specialized for his property.
"Say, 'If the sea became ink to write the word Rabku, the ocean would be finished before the word was written out Rabku, though we gave so much the enhancements." (Al-Kahf: 109).
"And, if all the trees on earth will become a sea pen and ink, is added after the seven seas again, necessarily kalam Allah will not inexhaustible." (Luqman: 27).
And, to limit what was revealed to Muhammad only., Not including what was revealed to previous prophets, such as the Torah, the Gospel, etc..
As for the recitation is a prayer to exclude ahad hadiths and divine traditions - if we believe that God revealed that his words - because the words reading as worship, which means in order to read the prayers and others as a worship, while qiraat ahad and divine traditions is not the case.
